The program

Sault overlooks a vast plain cultivated with lavender, lavandin and einkorn, offering visitors a unique patchwork of colors in summer.

The village's flourishing history is highlighted on a marked trail called "An Hour in the Footsteps of the Wolf."* Visitors will discover, among other things, three of the towers of the old medieval castle, the remains of the ramparts, alleyways with evocative names (Esquiches-Mouches, Rompe-Cul), and the Church of Notre Dame de la Tour, built in the early 12th century and listed as a historical monument. The two wash houses in the historic center, St. Marc and Porte Royale, recently restored, are included in a new route encompassing all six of Saltes' wash houses.*

The municipal museum, one of the oldest in the provinces, opens its doors in the summer. Like a cabinet of curiosities, it exhibits treasures as diverse as they are interesting: an original copy of Diderot and d'Alembert's encyclopedia, numismatic and Egyptian collections including a mummy, lapidary inscriptions, a herbarium, minerals and fossils...
“La MicroFolie”, a more recent museum inaugurated in 2022, offers visitors a new approach with various dedicated spaces: digital museum, virtual reality space, place for sharing around games.

The village's many shops are part of a new sound trail, a musical and unusual discovery of the village's economy and the lives of its inhabitants (pharealucioles.org/les-pastilles-sonores/)

Omnipresent in Sault, lavender blooms from the beginning of July.
Distilleries, gardens, and farms welcome you to discover the world of perfume plants through tours and workshops, from the field to the finished product, without forgetting its uses and history.

Besides the Provençal market every Wednesday morning since 1515, the summer period in Sault is punctuated by numerous events, festivals and flea markets, the highlight of which is marked in August by the annual “Horse Races” on the 2nd Sunday of the month and the unmissable “Lavender Festival” on August 15.
